2007/02/14 Shovelling is inevitable

A mild winter so far, and finally a big dump of snow to clear out.
The winter of 2006-2007 has been strange. Around Christmas, there was so little snow that up in ski country, they were laying off workers. Then I went to Finland for the first two weeks in January, and the weather was about +6 Celsius and raining. When I went to New York, there was a brief flurry of snow but no accumulation.
