2006/12/28 A thinking lunch, and the library

Every few months when in town, I try to schedule lunch with Dan. We discuss business research, while I’m still working things out. This helps me because I learn while explaining ideas to Dan, and he appreciates the discussion because I don’t seem to see the world the same way as other people.

Dan, at SaiGon PalaceIn this conversation, Dan said that there’s a way to learn twice as fast: you just have to figure out the right questions to ask in advance. I met Dan at one of the Rotman School Lifelong Learning events. (He’s actually got an MBA from Rotman, whereas I’m partially cheating to be there with only a B.Comm. On the other hand, I taught classes there fore two years!)

We met for lunch at SaiGon Palace on Spadina — my favourite Vietnamese restaurant — and afterwards, I biked over to the Robarts libary to do some journal searches.

The university library isn’t very crowded during holiday season!
