2008/03/18 Water risks and perks in Tampa

After hopping around Asia and Europe, I didn’t have much time at home before my day job took me down to Florida. The client has a large campus in the Tampa area. On the walk back from lunch, we stopped by the pond for a moment.

The sign was intriguing. We didn’t actually see any alligators. We weren’t even sure that we saw any bubbles coming up to the surface.

A fringe benefit of Florida travel can be a nice hotel outdoor pool. There are fewer risks than swimming in the ocean, or no risks of encountering reptiles. I made it a point to take laps in the late afternoon.

In a theme of trying out local cuisine, I suggested to Greg, Joanne and Ray that we try Black Beans Cuban Bar and Grill. The atmosphere was relaxed, the servers was friendly, and the portions were more than each of us could finish.

When the weather is cooler up north, it’s a perk to have a territory that includes warmer climates. As a bonus, there don’t seem to be many clients that wear ties down south.
