In town, the Finnish sense of humour shows up at the HAMK University of Applied Sciences with a milk pier, for which the design is patented. It’s outside the dairy. Students produce products which the local neighbours enjoy.
Petri and Minna have a big back yard. The weekend was warm enough for brunch under the gazebo, but not warm enough for shorts.
One tourist attraction open on Sundays is the glass outlet in the town of Iitala.
At the Naïvist Art Gallery at Iittala, was a showing of Tinga Tinga paintings — some on bike parts — from Tanzania.

Minna drove the commute into Espoo for Co-Create 2013 with me for two of the three days. An evening tour for the group included a visit to the Haltia Finnish Nature Centre.
The centre overlooks Pitkäjärvi (Long Lake). The geographic features look similar to those in my home region of Muskoka.
Since I hadn’t seen the new centres on the Otaniemi campus, Minna took me by the Urban Mill.
A few doors over is the Startup Sauna.

Departing Toronto on a Thursday night and then returning from Helsinki on the Wednesday morning is the shortest trip that I’ve made to Finland. Unfortunately, the demands of working in a small business are heavy, so I had to cut this visit short.
